Student Summer Skills Incentive – Co-op Stream

This program is for not-for-profit organizations and is used to create career-related summer jobs for post-secondary students. Reimbursements are $9.10/hour of a minimum $12.55/hour wage. Applications are available in mid-December with a late January deadline.

The student must work at least 35 hours per week for at least 12 weeks in order to qualify for Acadia Co-op. A work term will be funded for a maximum of 14 weeks. Advantages for Student Summer Skills Incentive employers hiring under the Co-op stream are that funding results are known much more quickly (in early February) than under the regular stream and preference for these positions in terms of funding is thought to be given.
