Acadia ALERT - Campus Closed (Weather)

Today, Monday December 08, 2025, Acadia University will remain closed, with the exception of residences and Wheelock Dining Hall, due to the current weather, poor travel conditions and King's Transit cancelling service for the day. Wheelock Dining Hall may adjust their hours due to the weather and any change in hours will be communicated through Residence Life.

Employees and students are not expected to come to campus and only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Non-essential employees are not expected to work during the closure. Any events scheduled for today will be postponed or cancelled. All exams scheduled for today will be rescheduled to a later date.

Updates will be posted on www.acadiau.ca and pre-recorded on Acadia’s Information Line: 902-585-4636 (585-INFO). If you need emergency-related information, please contact the Department of Safety and Security by dialing 88 on all 585-phone systems, or by calling 902-585-1103.

How to Apply to Co-op

Applications for 2025/2026 are now closed

The deadline to apply was October 1, 2025.

Applications for the 2026/2027 academic year will open in late August 2026.

If you have questions about the Co-op Program or future application periods, please email us at co-op@acadiau.ca and include your degree program in your message so we can assist you more effectively.

Fees

A non-refundable Co-op Orientation fee of $150 will be charged once your application is accepted.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Undergraduate Students:

  • Must be a full-time* student in a program offering the Co-op Option.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.

  • At least 24 credit hours completed at the time of application.

  • Students with more than 75 credit hours are generally not eligible. However, if you’ve switched programs and have 45 or more credit hours remaining in your new program, you may still apply.

Graduate Students:

  • Must be a full-time* student in a degree program offering the Co-op Option.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.

  • Should be entering the first year of your degree program.

Full-time is defined as three or more courses (or thesis enrolment for graduate students) required for graduation in the semester before and after a co-op work term. Students registered with Accessibility Services may be considered full-time with two courses per semester.
